時隔6年,2屆奧運會,3屆北京車展,終于等來了北京吉普BJ40,是一款國產ORV越野車(Off Road Vehicle)在2008年北京車展上,還被稱之為“北汽B40”概念車正式亮相。
此后6年北汽B40彷佛失去了蹤影,不斷跳票,延長上市時間。關于跳票問題,官方針對每次跳票回應稱:初期,由于北汽B40量產版的工藝控制不夠到位,部分細節仍處于調試當中,所以本著對消費者負責的態度延遲上市。
